Operations Analyst

Overview

The Operations Analyst provides operational and administrative support to our back-office functions. The role is responsible for managing client and trade documentations, analyse and report of operational related performances, communications with varies teams as well as general office administrative duties to support the day-to-day operations of the company. The successful candidate will be experienced in managing dynamic operations, have proven records of success client and office administration experience, be an excellent communicator especially in writing, and is flexible when responding to administrative related requests. This position is currently based in North York and can potentially be remoted.

* Assist in preparation and creation of client and trade documentations

* Ensure accuracy of client and trade information in internal database/system

* Creation and preparation of reports including but not limited to trade performance reports, client summary reports for internal reporting purpose.

* Analyse of trade and client data for internal reporting purpose.

* Maintain operational procedures and able to provide training for these procedures

* Communications with other teams especially the sales team. Be the first point of reference for inquires from the sales team and respond in a timely and accurate manner.

* Managing general mailbox of the company, handle incoming and outgoing genal emails and mails.

* Be the teams’ point of reference for any office administration related matters such as printing, scanning, document filing, software subscriptions, office equipment maintenance and office supplies management.

* Post-secondary degree or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience

* Excellent oral and written communication skills is a must.

* Experiences in client services administration or operation administration.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) is a must.

* Committed to ethical and professional standards regarding confidentiality of client information

* Ability to work independently.

* Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles is an asset.

* Ability to write and speak Chinese is an asset.

Investment and Research Analyst

Overview

The investment and research analyst will be an integral part of the investment team in MCF Securities and provide support to investment due diligence and asset management functions. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is interested in a career in the investment industry. This position is based in North York, but it could be based in remote location given the current affair of things.

* Assist in monitoring and analyzing the performance of existing investment products

* Maintain and improve database of investment performance and investment asset reports

* Conduct research on general market trends

* Conduct detailed research on specific market segments

* Assist in conducting financial analysis and due diligence on potential investment opportunities

* Assist in building and maintaining financial models

* Assist in preparing quarterly investor updates

* Assist in coordinating with external service providers to produce financial statements and other investor statements

* 1-2 years of related experiences in a financial, accounting, analytical or M&A capacity, preferrable in analyzing financial statements and valuation of companies.

* Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or other quantitative disciplines

* Completion in Canadian Securities Course is an asset

* CFA Level I is an asset

* Working towards Other Accounting or finance related designation is an asset

* Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles

* Should be highly motivated, independent but able to work within a team in an environment

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compliance Officer

Overview

The objective of the position is to assist compliance monitoring and provide compliance support to assure the firm and its employees are compliant with applicable security regulatory requirements and internal polices and procedures. The successful candidate will be supervising client trades and dealing representative activities. The Compliance officer will be responsible for timing reporting, trend analysis, responding to dealing representatives’ inquiries as well as promoting and building a health compliance environment. The position is currently based in North York but can potentially be remoted.

* Review of trade documentations to make sure trades are completed in compliance of the regulation requirement and internal policies/procedures.

* Follow up, monitor, and track inquiries and trade deficiencies, take corresponding corrective actions

* Recording keeping of the trades reviewed and trade inquiries issued.

* Develop training materials and provide compliance trainings to company employees

* Assist in review and update of internal compliance policies and procedures.

* Provide internal compliance analysis and reports to senior management.

* Conduct required filing/reporting to applicable securities commissions, regulators, and industry supervisor organizations

* Post-secondary degree or an acceptable combination of education in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related discipline

* Minimum two years of compliance experience in the financial industry, preferably with an investment dealer or exempt market dealer

* Working knowledge in Canadian Securities regulations such as NI 31-103 and NI 45-106 as well as knowledges with regulations concerning the Canadian financial advisory and wealth management industry such as KYC and KYP requirements, anti-money laundering requirements, privacy and other related matters.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills is a must.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) is a must.
